Noroviruses are small non covered RNA viruses that are common source of acute gastroentritis. The spreading of mass infection is easy because of simple transmission, very low infective dose, short time of incubation, easy survival in the environment and lack of permanent immunity after overcoming the disease. The case report describes emergency medical service provider\u00b4s intervention on scene of multiple victim incident caused by norovirus infection. The incident was situated in the school camp in the former district of Pilsen &#8211; North, where 56 children and 2 adults suffered from acute gastroenteritis. The reaction of regional Medical Dispatch Center, deployed resources of Emergency Medical Service, on scene management and organization of transport to medical centers are described in the paper. RR COMPETITION OF STUDENTS OF MEDICAL UNIVERSITIES AT RALLY REJV\u00cdZ 2017 <\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>T\u00c1\u0147A BUL\u00cdKOV\u00c1, JAN MAR\u0160\u00c1LEK, VILIAM DOBI\u00c1\u0160, JITKA GUR\u0147\u00c1KOV\u00c1, ZDEN\u011aK TLUST\u00dd<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>Abstract <\/b><\/p>\n<p>The article deals with the analysis of the 7th year of the MUC. Rallye Rejv\u00edz (MUC. RR) \u2013 Competition of students of the 4th \u2013 6th years of medical universities, which took place as part of the 21st Rallye Rejv\u00edz 2017, the largest competition of Emergency Medical Services, in May in Kouty nad Desnou. Nine crews joined the MUC. RR this year (seven Czech, one Slovak and one Polish). The authors present a comparison of the results in the individual professional tasks, MUC versus the RLP national competition (RLP-NAT). The average points earnings achieved by MUC and RLP-NAT crews are processed graphically.<\/p>\n<p><b>Key words: <\/b>competition of students of medical universities and physicians crews \u2013 professional methodological tasks \u2013 comparison<b><\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>ETHICAL DILEMMAS IN EMERGENCY MEDICINE \u2013 HEALTH CARE PROFESSIONALS\u00b4 OPINION ON INDICATIONS AND CONTRAINDICATIONS OF ADVANCED LIFE SUPPORT IN PATIENTS WITH SEVERE CHRONIC DISEASE <\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>MILANA POKORN\u00c1, JANA \u0160EBLOV\u00c1, ROMAN SK\u0158IPSK\u00dd<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>Abstract <\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>Ethical dilemmas in emergency medicine \u2013 health care professionals\u00b4 opinion on indications and contraindications of advanced life support in patients with severe chronic disease <\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>Introduction:<\/b> Emergency health care professionals face quite often situations with lack of information about contraindications of advanced life support (ALS) in terminally ill patients. Similarly, when paramedic team is on scene as the first response team and they must start ALS due to the legislation in case when obvious signs of death are not present.<\/p>\n<p><b>Methods:<\/b> The authors provided a pilot questionnaire survey among participants of national emergency medicine congress Dost\u00e1lovy dny in 2015. The survey mapped opinion of respondents about providing or withdrawing ALS in five described model situations of cardiac arrest. In case of choosing to provide ALS they were asked also for reason why they should start resuscitation. The options of reasons for providing ALS were the same in all five cases. Participation in the survey was voluntary and the respondents answered anonymously. No other demographic data than age, gender and professional role were asked. Basic descriptive statistics was used for the analysis.<\/p>\n<p><b>Results:<\/b> 205 out of 212 questionnaires were enrolled in the pilot study, 7 were excluded for incomplete answers. Complete answers but no data on age, gender and professional role were in 26 of enrolled questionnares. In two of 5 model situations the participants were mostly in agreement: in these 2 cases a witnessed cardiac arrest was described and both patients (one middle aged and the other of senior age) were physically and mentally capable and active. The reason most often chosen in those two patients was expectancy of possible recovery should the resuscitation be successful. Opininon on the remaining 3 cases (a long-term imobile senior patient with dementia, a middle-aged patient with quadruplegia and severe case history with repeated resuscitations and critical care unit hospitlaizations, and a young man with devastating brain injury) were inhomogenous. The selected reasons were different than hope for recovery.<\/p>\n<p><b>Key words: <\/b>indications and contraindications of advanced life support \u2013 palliative care \u2013 do not resuscitace orders (DNR) \u2013 advanced directives<\/p>\n<p><b>\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>IMPACT OF PSYCHOLOGICAL STRESS ON PROFESSIONALS OF THE INTEGRATED RESCUE SYSTEM <\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>DANA REBEKA RALBOVSK\u00c1, ROBIN \u0160\u00cdN, DENISA CHARLOTTE RALBOVSK\u00c1 <\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>Abstract <\/b><\/p>\n<p>This paper discusses the issue of post-traumatic intervention care provided to professionals within the Integrated Rescue System. The research aims to examine how professionals within emergency and rescue services understand the option of post-traumatic intervention care and how they consider it beneficial for them. We have used a non-structured questionnaire for the research part of the study to find what is the amount of psychological stress of crisis intervents while providing the first psychological aid to the victims on site. We are also interested in the feeling and emotions of the members of rescue teams after an intervention which has been psychologically stressful. We have studied after which type of emergency response would the professionals ask for help of a psychologist or a member of posttraumatic intervention team.
